Tenebrae - Music and Meditation

Tenebrae means darkness or shadows. As we come to the end of Lent, we begin a journey into darkness to a place of deep shadows. As Scripture readings and hymns are shared to tell the story of Holy Week, we accompany Jesus in his last hours and extinguish seven candles until the church will be filled with darkness. This gradual darkness symbolizes Jesus’ increasing sorrow as the events of Passion Week progress. -
