Safe Environment

To ensure our children and our volunteers are in a safe environment our Diocese requires the following safe environment compliance procedures.
A. For Volunteers who Work with Children - Protecting Gods' Children (PGC) compliance procedures

• Complete an online background check
• Read, understand and acknowledge a Pastoral Code of Conduct
• Attend a 3 hour Virtus live or virtual training  program entitled “Protecting God’s Children”  within 30 days of volunteering

To complete  the outlined steps: 

•  Go to www.virtusonline.org
•  Select First Time Registrant and begin the registration
•  From the dropdown "Paterson-Child Protection (Diocese)"
•  Create username and password
•  Initiate your background check; read and sign the Code of Conduct; choose  a date to attend the Virtus live or online training program. 

B. For ALL Volunteers - Paterson Diocese HR  "Anti-Harassment in the Workplace video. 
To view the video please follow the steps outlined below.

• Create a NEW Virtus registration (even if you have an exisiting PGC account set up)
• Go to www.virtusonline.org
• Select First Time Registrant
• In the dropdown "Paterson-Human Resources Anti-Harassment"
• Create username and password
• View the video and when complete receive a certificate
• Email certificate to tjanosik@corpuschristi.org
