Valerie Coffey
Valerie and Mike Coffey and their 2 daughters relocated to Madison NJ from the northern suburbs of Chicago in the summer of 2001 due to a job change for Mike. This new job would be located in Manhattan. We discovered Corpus Christi Parish while on a random drive in the spring of 2002 and have been members ever since. What seemed like such an inconsequential ride that day turned out to be a life changing event for our family as we had been seeking to find a new Church. We have been parishioners for 20 years and find great joy, enrichment, community, and comfort here. The opportunities to volunteer time and talent offer something for a wide range of personal interests. I have participated in many.
By training, I earned a BSN in Nursing from the University of Illinois. It was at the Medical Center Campus where Mike and I met and we have been married 42 years. Like most new grads upon graduation, my nursing career began in a hospital. When our family grew in size, the lifestyle of hospital nursing was in conflict with our family’s needs. Nursing is a very versatile profession so ambulatory care was where I spent most of my career. Pediatrics was my primary focus. I am now retired and am Grandma to 4 little ones.
This is an exciting time for Corpus Christi parish. I look forward to working with fellow Council members and all of you.

Brian taught in the Middle School religious education program for 12 years and then served as Middle School Religious Education Coordinator for 5 years. He also participated as a chaperone in the Habitat for Humanity and Bridges programs. Their children, Courtney and Caroline, were in the Corpus Christi religious education program and they both graduated from the Chatham Public School system.
