Linda Hedden
Linda has been a parishioner since the parish began in 1966. Her father, George Schwartz, was one of the founders that worked beside Father Stephen Patch to get the campaign funding started. Linda remembers going to mass in a local school gymnasium and CCD (religious education) was held in families’ living rooms before the “Parish Center” was built.
Linda grew up on Southern Blvd, down the street from Corpus Christi, she is the fourth generation living in Chatham. Her family owned the Schwartz Dairy Farm. Linda went to St. Patrick’s School in Chatham, Chatham Township High School and then County College of Morris. She started a 40-year career in banking at Chatham Trust Company and retired from Bank of America in 2019. Linda raised three children in Chatham; Jeffrey, Paula and Sara who were all very involved in CCD, youth ministry and youth choir at Corpus Christi. During her working years, Linda volunteered as a CCD teacher, helped the youth minister with plays, spaghetti dinners and pancake breakfasts. Currently, Linda is a Eucharistic Minister, leads the Altar Society, helps with funerals, is on the Finance Council and enjoys helping with the annual Carnival. When not volunteering she loves being “Mimi” to her six beautiful grandchildren, gardening, reading and living life.
