This ministry visits residents at both Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center and Juniper Village at Chatham.
Every Wednesday, at both locations, lay Eucharistic Ministers will lead a 15-20 minute service, which includes readings, music, prayer, and distribution of communion. This is followed by visiting individual rooms for distribution of communion for those unable to gather with the group.
Every first Tuesday of the month, at both locations, lay Eucharistic Ministers will accompany and assist a priest for a 30 minute Mass and Anointing. This is followed by visiting individual rooms for distribution of communion for those unable to gather with the group.
In addition to these weekly and monthly dates, there are also opportunities to visit, pray with, and distribute communion for other special days, such as Ash Wednesday, Christmas, and Easter.
“It’s so rewarding!”
If you have a desire to assist or help the elderly in their later years and brighten their day, you may be interested in this ministry. If you are a good listener, have awareness of, patience for, and are service oriented toward the sick and elderly, you may be interested in this ministry.
“This is a huge blessing for them and us!”
This ministry allows parishioners to act as a liaison between the two facilities and Corpus Christi, allowing all residents to feel part of the parish family. Volunteers will be impressed with the large group of devout Catholics at both facilities, and will feel appreciated by the residents that they visit. It is something that everyone looks forward to!
